The Bundesliga is the goals league. High pressing, high defensive lines and a cultural aversion to sitting deep produce 3.15 goals a game, the highest of any major European competition, and Over 2.5 clears in nearly three fixtures out of five.

With only 18 clubs and 306 matches, the sample is smaller and the variance higher than in the 20-team leagues. Small samples make in-season form models overreact, which is a trap in October and a gift in February.

Because the whole market knows the Bundesliga is high-scoring, the Over is usually over-bet. The counter-intuitive edge is Under 3.5 in matches with two low-block promoted sides, where the league-average adjustment applied by most books is far too aggressive.

Asian handicap lines on Bayern and the other top sides are inflated by public money. Taking the underdog with a +1.5 or +2 line at these prices has been a steadier long-run position than backing the favourite to cover.

Saturday 15:30 CET kick-offs mean 14:30 WAT, the earliest big-league window of the Nigerian weekend, and Bundesliga Over 2.5 legs are the most common first pick in Nigerian accumulators. That popularity is exactly why the price is short — treat the Over as a selection to earn, not to default to.
