Draw no bet betting explained

Draw no bet pays out on a home or away win and returns your stake if the match is drawn. It converts a three-way market into a two-way one, lowering the price in exchange for eliminating one of the three ways to lose.

It is functionally identical to an Asian handicap of 0, and the two should be compared before staking — books do not always price them consistently.

Derive DNB directly from de-vigged 1X2 probabilities. If the fair chances are home 45%, draw 27%, away 28%, then the home DNB probability is 45 / (45 + 28) = 61.6%, giving a fair price of 1.62.

A practical shortcut: DNB price is roughly the 1X2 price multiplied by (1 minus the draw probability). When a book offers more than that derived number, it is pricing DNB off a stale draw estimate — which happens most often in leagues with unusual draw rates.

Using DNB on a heavy favourite. When the draw is unlikely anyway, removing it barely helps and the price drop is not worth it. DNB earns its keep on underdogs and in evenly matched fixtures.

Forgetting to compare against the Asian 0 line, which frequently offers a better number for exactly the same outcome.

DNB is under-used on Nigerian coupons, where straight 1X2 dominates. In draw-heavy competitions like the PSL, AFCON and the Argentine Primera, taking the DNB rather than the win is often the correct risk-adjusted version of the same opinion.
