Unit size in betting

A unit is your standard stake, expressed as a fixed percentage of bankroll. Talking in units rather than naira makes results comparable across time and bank sizes.

Pick a percentage, stick to it, and vary only within a narrow band when confidence genuinely differs — say 0.5 to 2 units, never 10. Flat staking in units is the baseline every other method is measured against, and it beats most improvised approaches because it removes the biggest leak in betting: staking more on the bets you feel strongly about, which correlates poorly with the bets that are actually mispriced.

Unit = bankroll x unit %. Profit in units = naira profit / unit size.

With a ₦500,000 bank and a 1.5% unit, one unit is ₦7,500. A "2-unit" bet is ₦15,000 and a "half unit" is ₦3,750. Reported as units, a season of +42 units means something whether your bank was ₦50,000 or ₦5,000,000.

Unit accounting exposes whether your bigger bets actually perform better. Most bettors discover they do not, and that discovery alone is worth years of results.

Nigerian minimum stakes and rounding on some apps push small bankrolls into oversized units. If ₦100 minimums force you above 2% per bet, the bank is too small for the number of bets you are placing — cut frequency, not discipline.
